German beer Uergie DoppelSticke

Today is an extra special day for us here at Concealed Wines because we are launching our very first German beer at Systembolaget. The brewery UERIGE Obergärige Hausbrauerei GmbH is launching its Uerige DoppelSticke in the exclusive segment at Systembolaget. This beer is brewed in the old town of Dusseldorf in Germany where the brewery was founded in 1862 by Wilhelm Cürten. The name ‘Uerige’ (which means ‘bad temper’ in a Dusseldorf dialect) comes from the local customers who thought the owner at the time had a bad temper!

Uergie DoppelSticke is a strong Altbier which is normally brewed for the American market, but has now found its way to Sweden. This type of beer is also called the German interpretation of barley wine with a focus on the malt. The beer is brewed according to German ‘Rheinheitsgebot’ of purely water, malt, hops and yeast.

For more information on this product, please visit the website of Systembolaget through the following link: http://www.systembolaget.se/dryck/ol/uerige-doppelsticke-1163403

We hope you will soon get the chance to try this German beauty!

Cheers and happy weekend!
